Cherie Kaina and Randy Allen are a Honolulu-based acoustic duo known for their rich harmonies, engaging performances, and versatile live sound.
Cherie Kaina is a powerful and expressive Honolulu vocalist who has built her career in Hawaiʻi’s live music scene. She has performed as a featured singer with groups such as Acoustik Playground at popular spots including the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Bar and the Moana Surfrider Beach Bar. She has also collaborated with some of the best artists in Hawaiʻi and toured regularly with the late Fiji (George Veikoso), contributing background vocals. Her strong, warm voice and stage presence have made her a valued collaborator and performer throughout the local circuit.
Randy Allen is an Oʻahu-based musician, vocalist, and guitarist who has been performing professionally for many years. He plays guitar and ukulele, draws from a wide range of musical styles, and uses live looping to create percussive rhythms and layered arrangements while he sings and plays. His approach keeps the focus on the song while building a full, dynamic sound. Known for his smooth, soulful voice and easygoing stage presence, he reads the room and keeps every crowd connected to the music.
Together, Cherie and Randy create a dynamic acoustic duo with an incredible, full-bodied sound. Cherie’s lead and harmony vocals blend naturally with Randy’s guitar, percussive looping, and layered arrangements, producing tight harmonies and a rich texture that feels much larger than two people. They move easily across genres and eras—covering classic R&B and soul, contemporary pop, rock, folk, country, reggae, and island favorites—while keeping every song engaging and personal. Their chemistry and shared musicality make them a versatile and memorable choice for weddings, private events, corporate events, and any gathering that calls for great live acoustic music. With a repertoire of over 1,000 songs, they can fit the mood of any crowd.
